Customised work in motion

In the Brussels outskirts, you'll find Amab, a social enterprise that has played an important societal role since the 1970s. With 800 employees and three locations – in Zaventem, Asse, and Halle – Amab provides solutions in repackaging, electrical assembly, and circular initiatives.

“Our customers expect flexibility and tailored solutions,” says Olivier Bernard, IT & Finance Director. “We’re here to handle projects that fall outside standard production. That’s why a strong ERP system is indispensable.”

Amab worked for years with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, a system that had proven its worth. However, the changing market brought new challenges. "The growth of our electrical assembly and circular business demanded processes that our old system could no longer handle," explains IT manager Elias Schack.

Olivier adds: "We knew that switching to a cloud solution was essential. Microsoft Dynamics 365 gave us the opportunity to work more efficiently, securely, and future-proof."

"Moreover, the on-premise system had a vulnerability in terms of cybersecurity. For an organization like ours, with so much data, that posed a significant risk."

The solution: ERP migration with a trusted partner

With the choice for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management, Amab embarked on an ambitious migration project. They enlisted the help of their trusted IT partner, 9altitudes.

Elias: “9altitudes knows our industry inside and out. They asked critical questions and helped us use as many standard processes as possible. This makes future updates easier.” The migration was quick and seamless.

Olivier shares: “We scheduled the transition during a three-day long weekend. Thanks to the collaboration with 9altitudes, we were operational in no time. Of course, there were some initial issues, but these were resolved incredibly quickly by our key users and the consultants from 9altitudes.”

More flexibility and peace of mind

The transition to a new ERP system has brought Amab many visible benefits. Updates are now performed automatically and without issues, significantly simplifying daily operations. Where time used to be lost on maintenance and technical problems, Amab can now fully focus on customers and processes.

The system's flexibility has also proven to be a game changer. Parameters can now be easily adjusted, which is crucial for efficiently accommodating complex and changing assignments. This gives Amab the agility needed in an ever-evolving market.

The collaboration

The implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 was more than a technical change for Amab; it was a strategic step forward. In this process, 9altitudes played a crucial role. With a deep understanding of the industry and a sharp, critical perspective, we helped Amab make the right choices and efficiently overcome obstacles. Our expertise ensured that the system seamlessly aligned with Amab's unique needs, significantly improving both processes and flexibility.

This collaboration highlighted the importance of a reliable IT partner who not only provides advice, but also actively thinks along about how technology can support business goals.

What lies ahead

With its renewed digital approach, Amab is ready to continue growing. The focus is now on refining existing processes and seizing new opportunities.

An important step in their vision for the future is the expansion to a new site, where efficiency and flexibility take center stage. Thanks to the scalability of the ERP system, Amab can achieve these growth ambitions while continuing to provide their customers with the high-quality service they are accustomed to. “We want to be prepared for whatever the future holds, and with this system, we have all the tools we need to act quickly and effectively,” the team emphasizes.
